A 400 km long double track, standard gauge railway project. The design speed is 250 km/h.
Upon completion of the project the distance between Ankara-Sivas will be reduced to 405 km and the 12 hour travel time will be reduced to 2 hours.
Kayas-Yerkoy Section
The total length of this section is 141.5 km, the design speed 250 km/h. There are 24 tunnels (22.5 km), 22 viaducts (16.1 km), 9 cut-cover (13.14 km) and 2 stations. The highest viaduct in Turkey with a height of 90 m is also located in this section.
Yerkoy- Sivas Section
The total length of this section is 249 km, the design speed 250 km/h. There are 27 tunnels (46,1 km), 30 viaducts (12,3 km),11 bridges, 5 cut-cover structure, 46 overpasses, 80 underpasses, 341 culverts and 5 stations within this section.
